High speed boats cost twice as much as ferries, but there are more services and the time required is shorter, so you can spend more time on Yakushima.
Conversely, the ferry is recommended for those who wish to come by car from the main island or to keep costs down.

The Yakushima Tourist Association's website has more detailed information, so you are sure to find a plan that suits you.
